About FinCalc Lab

FinCalc Lab exists because most financial calculators online are either advertising funnels for loans, cluttered beyond usability, or black boxes that hand you a number without showing the work.

We build the opposite: fast, free calculators that show the formula, explain the assumptions, and walk through a worked example in plain English — so you leave not just with a number, but with an understanding of how the number was made.

Who runs this site

FinCalc Lab is built and maintained by a graduate researcher in accounting and financial data analysis, with a background spanning corporate finance, financial statement analysis and quantitative modeling. Every calculator's logic and every article is reviewed against standard financial formulas and reputable sources before publication.

Our principles

  1. Privacy by default. Every calculator runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. The numbers you type — salaries, debts, savings — are never transmitted, stored, or seen by us.
  2. Show the math. Each tool documents its formula and assumptions. If a result surprises you, you can trace exactly why.
  3. Education, not advice. We explain how financial mathematics works. We do not know your situation, and nothing here is a substitute for a qualified adviser, accountant or tax professional.
  4. Free, supported by ads. The site is funded by unobtrusive advertising, which lets us keep every tool free with no accounts and no paywalls.

Corrections

Accuracy matters more than pride. If you believe a calculator or article contains an error, please contact us — verified corrections are published promptly.
